Bringing Warmth to Every Moment
Teresa Dementia Care Home (TDCH), a unit of the Vattakunnel Thomas Memorial Trust (VTMT), was established in June 2023 to address the urgent need for dementia care in Ernakulam.
When a previous care home closed down, several displaced dementia patients had nowhere to go. Recognizing this crisis, TDCH was founded to provide a dedicated space for elderly individuals with dementia, ensuring they continue to receive quality care in a familiar and supportive environment.

Our Legacy
The Vattakunnel Thomas Memorial Trust (VTMT) is a Registered Charitable Trust, created in memory of Mr. K.C. Thomas and Mrs. Teresa Thomas.
- Mr. K.C. Thomas was a senior IAS officer and head of the Income Tax Department in Trivandrum. He was known for his unwavering integrity and commitment to public service, retiring in 1983 and was called to The Lord in 2006.
- Mrs. Teresa Thomas was a kind-hearted and compassionate individual, always extending a helping hand to those in need. She was called to The Lord in May 2000.
In their honor, TDCH was established to uphold their values of service, care, and compassion.
Our Leadership
The Managing Trustee, Mr. K. Thomas Cherian, has extensive experience in social work and managing care homes. With over 35 years in business, he transitioned to his true passion—social work, dedicating his life to ensuring the well-being of seniors in need.
